Our client, a smart energy company, is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join their team on a permanent basis in a hybrid role, based out of London, Manchester or Nottingham.

As a cloud solution architect, you will drive the successful adoption of public cloud and realise its benefits through the delivery of the cloud strategy, collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.  This is aligned to their mission of delivering value for money to its customers.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee Design, Build and Run of cloud architecture solutions (predominantly Azure and AWS) while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Act as design authority for cloud function within DCC
• Define cloud architecture deliverables including patterns and standards based on industry best practices
• Evaluate proposals from bidders supplying cloud based solutions
• Determine the technology system architecture and functional design needed to support and meet business objectives
• Provide cloud architecture leadership for programmes and projects
• Research, evaluate and realise benefits of new cloud tools and techniques
• Ensure projects comply with the defined cloud standards and Frameworks
•  Take a lead in implementing cloud cost management (FinOps) across DCC’s cloud solutions

You will have/be:

• Strong Cloud Experience –Azure, AWS, Google
• Experience working as Architect/designer in large cloud migration/transformation
• Demonstrable experience of a breadth of technologies – infrastructure, cloud native software, applications, databases and tools
• Expertise in Azure or AWS cloud platforms
• IaC tools like Terraform, ARM, Cloudformation
• Proficiency with networking, storage, and virtualization
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation tools eg Azure DevOps, GitHub
• Able to write, review and assure technical documentation such as HLDs, LLDs, user guides, release notes etc
• Familiarity of both traditional and agile delivery methods

Also desirable:

• Relevant Cloud solution architecture certification
• FinOps experience
• Utilities experience
• IoT
