Our Client is looking for a Demand Lead to join them at an exciting point in their journey, working as part of the country’s efforts to reduce climate change as a single point of contact for demand management.

The successful candidate will work with our Client’s customer relationship team to create ‘effective’ demand, managing pipeline with Service Providers – with particular emphasis on strong medium to long term planning. You will also oversee associated resource planning to drive ongoing change, while ensuring operational performance is optimised through understanding and management of backlog of changes.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced planning professional having driven successful business partnering and with a proven track record of:

  • Strong planning and resource management capability to achieve business objectives
  • Effectively collaborating across business organizational boundaries to achieve significant outcomes with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Delivering difficult information when required and being fully transparent with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ensuring your own plans (and those of your team) are linked to overall organizational strategy
  • Ensuring your team behave in a way that is consistent with organizational values and behaviors.

As Demand Lead, you will

  • Define policies and processes for discovering, analyzing, planning, controlling and documenting the need to carry out and co-ordinate impact assessments of demand across the business and with external Service Providers in line with regulatory requirements
  • Implement demand management analysis and planning activities to effectively and proactively drive ’good demand’
  • Be responsible for capacity and resource planning to ensure resources are effectively utilized, delivery risks are mitigated and changes are delivered in a cost-effective manner
  • Drive best practice and provide thought leadership to help stakeholders adopt and adhere to the agreed demand management approach
  • Manage the process of integrating demand management with operational change delivery processes
  • Review new business proposals and provide advice on demand issues
  • Work with business representatives to agree and implement short-term and medium-term modifications to demand
  • Maintain a register of business requests, route requests to the right place, and report on the status of each request
  • Categorize and prioritize technology demands based on urgency, impact, and alignment with business goals to facilitate effective resource allocat

Desired experience

  • Technology Business Partnering
  • Experience of planning/forecasting
  • Working knowledge of ITIL
  • A strong understanding of the IT project lifecycle and proven portfolio management experience
  • Experience of transitioning services from build environments into operation
  • Ability to identify risks and effective mitigation planning

Essential qualifications

  • ITIL Practitioner

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Agile or Scrum Master certification.
  • Certified Demand Driven Planner (CDDP) or equivalent qualification
