The role of the Senior Network Design Engineer

You will play a key role in the design of networks, systems architecture, and implementation of network infrastructure solutions for both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the design, build, and implementation of a high availability and fault tolerant network and infrastructure for WAN, LAN, SAN, VPN networks specific to IoT use cases.
• Design network solutions for IoT services, such as LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, load balancing, routing, and internet routing technologies e.g. BGP, alongside associated security services and controls.
• Act as the Network SME, providing technical advice on network design, configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Support IaC deployments in the cloud and datacentres, alongside other engineers.
• Provide escalated 3rd level support as required.

Key skills/experience required

• 5+ years of experience in network solutions architecture, design, and implementation – If this experience is within IoT services then even better!
• Proven commercial experience in network technologies and protocols, such as TCP/IP, IPv4/v6, MPLS, QoS, SDN, BGP, TFTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.
• Experience in network devices and tools, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, BGP, monitoring, etc.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex network environments, together with the ability to own and drive forward projects.
• Data centre network design and implementation, including network virtualization, cloud networking, and IoT usage patterns.
• Hold relevant certifications e.g. CCNP, CCDP, & CCIE.
